BUSTED! Brackets fall apart!

CLASS AA:

(1) Arlington def. (5) Clarkstown South 3-0 (need confirmation on score)

(2) Suffern def. (3) North Rockland 3-1

Championship: (1) Arlington vs. (2) Suffern at John Jay on Sat, at 6:00 p.m.

My take: The only bracket of mine that didn't shatter into smitherines, the Admirals and Mounties will meet in the sectional championship for the fourth year in a row. Arlington has won the last two and has been very impressive all year long. It will take a lot for Sean Barnes' girls to de-throne the two-time defending champs, more than I think they can muster. (Arlington wins 3-1)

CLASS AA:

(1) Ursuline def. (4) Panas 3-1

(2) Harrison def. (6) Fox Lane 3-0

Championship: (1) Ursuline vs. (2) Harrison at Hen Hud on Sat, at 4:00 p.m.
My take:†First off, let me say how upset I am that I did not have WiFi at the Ursuline/Panas game - it was an incredible match, frankly, I think I have a migraine from all the noise. I'll give credit where credit is due - Ursuline is for real! Coach Kemp joked that I said they played a weak schedule, but backed up her team's talent with the most (not one of, the†most)†impressive volleyball game I have ever seen (high school or college); but I'll do a separate post for that game. Following suit in shutting me up is Harrison, who swept yet again, completely busting my perfect A bracket. Officials and coaches told me Harrison is good, and that Jessica Segal is probably the smartest player in the game. I won't completely count my chickens this time, but after today, there's no way I can bet against the mighty Koalas! (Ursuline wins 3-1)

CLASS B:

(1) Pelham def. (4) Hen Hud 3-0

(2) Eastchester def. (3) Ardsley 3-1

Championship: (1) Pelham vs. (2) Eastchester at John Jay on Sat, at 4:00 p.m.
My take:†The only thing that outweighs the pure shock of Eastchester beating Ardsley, is the joy in knowing that Pelham is going to win its first sectional title. Mark Finegan has put together yet another terrific squad and has slayed the demon that was the 11-time defending champion Hen Hud Sailors. I've personally seen Pelham play, as have many other people, and I've yet to find someone tell me that Eastchester has even a 1% chance of winning this game. Congrats Finny, you've certainly earned it, and have certainly paid your dues. (Pelham wins 3-0)

CLASS C:

(1) Rye Neck def. (4) Keio 3-0

(3) Hastings def. (2) Valhalla 3-0

Championship: (1) Rye Neck vs. (3) Hastings at Hen Hud on Sat, at 1:30 p.m.
My take:†I'll admit that I don't know too much about the C and D classes because they aren't as talented as the other three (with the exception of Haldane), but I was very surprised to hear that Valhalla lost to Hastings. To be honest I really wouldn't be surprised if Hastings wins it all. To decide the winner I will literally flip a coin - Heads = Hastings, Tails = Rye Neck (Why not? Hastings wins 3-2)

CLASS D:

(1) Haldane def. (4) Solomon Schechter 3-0

(3) Hamilton def. (2) Tuckahoe 3-0

Championship: (1) Haldane vs. (3) Hamilton at John Jay on Sat, at 2:00 p.m.
My take:†No comment. Like I've said, this class is a joke. (Haldane wins 3-0)
